Michelle Ryan on the Decision That Changed Her Life Forever!
We all have those moments in life when we find ourselves at a crossroads, knowing that whichever path we choose to follow, will have deep impact on the life that lies ahead of us.

Celebrities are no exception to these difficult decisions, and have to face equally confusing dualities in their lives. Michelle Ryan, who’s better known as ‘Bionic Woman’, reached this point in her life when she decided to quit the show that had made her famous in the UK, ‘EastEnders’, and explore new terrains.
Michelle was 22 at the time, and having spend the major part of her teenage years on a daily soap, knew what a demanding life it could be, and all the sacrifices that one had to make.
That is why, when she received a call to audition for ‘Bionic Woman’, which at the time, was a new show scheduled to air on American television, she wasn’t as excited as a regular youngster would be.
She got selected after just a single audition, and as she packed her bags to move to the US, she was faced with a decision that hit her like a bolt out of the blue- she was required to sign a 7-year contract with the show.
She reveals that she refused the offer at the time, and simply said no. However, after she met the producers and the costars she opened up to the idea of working with them, and ultimately signed the contract.
Looking back at that decision, Michelle says that it had a significant impact on her life, as she gained fame as one of the most talented television actresses.
However, it all changed with the writer’s strike, which meant that the show went on hiatus, leaving Michelle jobless, with a contract that did not allow her to accept any other projects.
It was at that point that she was offered a role in a high-profile action film, which she had to turn down. Even though it still remains her biggest regret, she gives credit to Bionic Woman for having made her famous in the first place.
