Ferrer was born in Santa Monica, to famous actor José Ferrer and American singer Rosemary Clooney. He was brought up with his other five siblings, he being the eldest of all. Ferrer studied acting at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. In his early age he was interested in music. He Plays drums and sings in the Los Angeles band “The Jenerators” with actor and co-founder Bill Mumy.
His major break in the movies came with “Robocop”, in 1987, before which he had done a few guest roles in some movies. His other major movies include “Valentino Returns”, “DeepStar Six”, “The Stand”, “Night Flier”, and “Traffic”.
His television works include series like “Shannon’s Deal”, “Twin Peaks”, and “Crossing Jordan”. He has also voiced the character of Weather Wizard, in the Superman: The Animated Series. He has also given his voice in series like “Robot Chicken” and “American Dad”.
Ferrer is divorced from actress Leilani Sarelle and has two sons with her. He married for the second to Lori Weintraub in 2005. Ferrer loves to golf and ski.
