Was it really that bad?

I know that the series is not liked at all and that is why the creators thought of not giving it another season. But, all I want to ask is that was it really that bad? I mean that I had seen a few episodes of the series and that looked pretty fine to me. Ok I agree that I didn’t follow the complete season, but whatever I had seen was good. If you ask for a frank opinion from me, the series had a good plot and it was presented well. Yes, it did seem like a bit fictional at times but, I guess it was much better than many of the series which have no head and tail and are still on air.

I still, very well, remember the pilot episode of the series and it was done in a very interesting way. The pilot episode focused on Jamie Sommers and provided an insight to her character and her previous life. It was in the very first episode that her normal life comes to an end and she became a victim of something unusual. She met an accident and her whole life changes in an instance. When, in order to save her life, her boyfriend also a doctor, implants bionic body parts, which also gives her extraordinary powers which are beyond her control. But, she uses her powers for good and becomes a help to the nation.

Well, I don’t think so it was really that bad. When all the superhero movies like Batman, Iron man can become an instant hit. Why can’t we accept a ‘super woman’? Don’t you think that we should be open to such changes and let women also do some heroic deeds?

If you ask me I am completely in favor of it. And, I expect your answer to be in positive too.

Why Bionic Woman didn’t attract the viewers?

Can you tell me, what led Bionic Woman to be cancelled?

Well, I can. As per my views, plot was fantastic and show-representation was also good. Then, what was wrong with the show? Why it got cancelled? It may be the leading actress Michael Ryan who failed to impress the audience with her performance. This gorgeous is also said to be depressed by the ratings’ failure of her sci-fi show. I think her depression and tension is obvious when reviewers called Bionic Woman- ‘clichéd’, ‘dark’, ‘depressing’ and ‘a total loss’. Sources have also said, “Frankly, the bosses at the network decided to blame Michelle for the show’s failure. Their bet was that American viewers would fall in love with her looks, personality, and the character she played. But that just didn’t happen’.

Michelle Ryan played Jaime Wells Sommers on series. She was a bartender who got involved in a terrible accident which results in her being outfitted with a pair of bionic legs and bionic right arm. These instruments provided her super agility and strength. The whole story line was weaved around her and it was a great chance for her to attract everyone with her appearance and skills. But unluckily, she failed to do so.

Her failure resulted in series’ failure and it resulted in a costly failure for NBC. If you remember, more than $15 million was spent in marketing the show’s launch appeal last year. So, just to avoid more losses and failures, they took a wise decision and put the show in the box of ‘bye-bye’ shows.

Finally, Bionic Woman is gone!

Fans of this unlucky series are really, really unlucky!!

Why I’m saying like that? I think I don’t need to clarify my point and you all know it very well. Yeah, Bionic Woman is over after the first season and no hopes of its retrieval.

Series was a remake of 1970s series of the same name and it had been one of the most heavily aired shows of the fall. I still remember the days of WGA strike when rumors were flying around that the series has been cancelled but no official word was there! But now, everything is as apparent as water after the word of series’ executive producer David Eick, who confirms that ‘The Show is gone”.

Bionic Woman just gave us a single season… and no more episodes after that. Season 1 finale ‘Do Not Disturb’ was aired on 11-28-2007 and here’s a little review of the season-cum-series finale episode-

Jaime and Becca go on a vacation at a spa resort but everything gets wrong when she’s drawn into a deadly game with another guest at the resort. No cliffhangers were left unsolved but even then, we all hoped to have some more episodes from series.

So, things are over and all hopes of series’ retrieval are kicked out after the official announcement. Well, if you’re a huge fan of series and can’t give up your favorite sci-fi show, then, here you can have all episodes from previous season. Just click to watch your favorite episode!

Bionic Woman

What’s it about…

All of us lead a very normal life, being the normal persons that we are. But imagine if some day, out of a blue you are expected to do something you are not at all used to. You get all those almighty, supernatural powers that as a kid you always wanted. If you had powers you would do this, change that etc, etc…. .

Bionic Woman

Yes, imagine if you really get the powers one day. How would you like to use them????? For good or for bad. But, let me tell you one thing, it is definitely not an easy job to carry the burden of the nation on your shoulders. To fight for the truth and use those powers, only when they are actually required.

Bionic in science fiction, is used to describe a human being who has had some human organs or functions replaced or enhanced by electronically powered parts that give the person superhuman capabilities.

Bionic Woman

This series is about a woman Jamie, who leads a normal life as a bartender, struggling through her everyday activities, with her rebellious sister, and a loving boyfriend. When one day she met an accident which changes her whole life. The only way to save her life was to implant those bionic implants to her body, which leaves her with those super human qualities. How she gets used to her new body parts and the way she uses the powers is what the series is all about.

Plot

With just eight episodes telecasted on air the series came to a halt. Because of various reasons that of writers strike and of the response that the show received from its viewers. But the producers had made clear that as soon as the strike will get over the remaining episodes will be telecasted, but till now nothing has been done regarding the same. The series was originally aired on Tuesdays at 9pm on ITV2, from September to November, 2007.

Originally a novel

The concept of bionic woman is originally taken from the novel “Cyborg” by Martin Caidin, which was published in 1972. The novel was about this pilot, Steeve Austin, who looses his body parts during a plane crash and were later replaced by these bionic parts, which were some kind of weapons used for fighting.

Bionic Woman

The first television series that was inspired from the novel was “The Six Million Dollar Man”. This television series was also an inspiration to another television series, “The Bionic Woman”, which was aired from 1976-1978.

The 2007, series of “The Bionic Woman”, is a re-imagining of the original series. Though a few changes have been made according to the needs contemporary times, the basic idea still remains the same. About the woman with some sort of supernatural powers, and how she use those powers for good and to make this world a better place to live in.

Not well received

The latest re-imagining series of “The Bionic Woman” was not that well received and the show has been almost called cancelled after its first season in which only eight episodes were telecasted.

Bionic Woman

The show received mixed responses from its viewers all over. None of its viewers were completely satisfied with the show, always expecting for something more, something new and something more exciting. Some of its viewers were of the view that the show is just full of fight scenes and could just interest those who were fight crazy. Even the story line could not keep its viewers sticked to it. Some even went ahead to saying that they watched the series only for the fact that it was directed by David Eick, the director of Battlestar Galactica.

Well, whenever a series is reproduced there are certain problems that the show has to face. As it was a famous one earlier, the expectations of the viewers are really high and it gets really important to meet those expectations, to make it a hit one. All are not that lucky as Battlesatr Gallactica. Well anyways good luck to the producers if they plan to reopen the show with another season.
